About DC Tri Club
At the DC Triathlon Club, we pride ourselves in welcoming and respecting all athletes, whether you are a beginner, elite or 10x Ironman finisher, young or old, “slow” or “fast,” a person of color, LGBT+ or straight, whether you live in DC/VA/MD or outside of the DC metro area, or in whatever way you may be special and bring a richer diversity to the Club. While we are largely a community of triathletes, we welcome all athletes interested in the multisport lifestyle, be it duathlons, off-road sports or whatever sports fulfill you the most. At the DC Triathlon Club, everyone can expect to receive encouragement from fellow Club members, whether you aim to break the finish line tape or are a back-of-the-pack athlete.
We pride ourselves in the camaraderie amongst our members. Every athlete tries hard, and everyone deserves support. We know most of our members have athletic goals, and thus it is our mission to help our members fulfill their athletic pursuits. We do so by providing our membership with resources such as structured training programs, training camps, Club training races, seminars, and much more. Lastly, our sense of community does not just encompass individual athletes, but we also seek to build strong community bonds with the businesses that support us via our partnerships, especially those local to the DC metro area. Community building takes two-way relationships, and we seek to give back as much or more as we get from others.
The 2022 Season

GREATEST CHALLENGES: After two years of not being infected with COVID, over half the Team finally managed to get the virus early in the summer of 22’ (and not through infecting each other!). We have faced the challenge of recovering from the infections and rebuilding our strength and conditioning in a safe way given the cardiac and pulmonary complications that can manifest from the viral infection.
SEASON GOALS: To win. To podium. To push each other, in a supportive environment, to do things that we didn’t think that we were capable of doing. To have fun.
UPCOMING RACES: 2022 Ironman World Championship – Kailua-Kona, HI, 2022 Ironman 70.3 World Championship – St. George, UT, 2022 USAT Age Group Nationals – Milwaukee, WI, 2022 Age Group Worlds – Abu Dhabi, 2022 Ötillo Swim-Run World Championships – Sweden.
KEY RESULTS: The Team has regularly made appearances at championship events around the world since our inception in 2010. We pride ourselves on making podium appearances at virtually every race that our Team members are at, but more important than results or records is the camaraderie that we have built on the Team and within the larger DC Triathlon Club, and our desire to give back to the sport that we take from and build a strong community of athletes interested in the multisport lifestyle.

Why ZONE3?
After years of working with other wetsuit companies, we did a wetsuit demo with Zone3 and got to experience the feel of the lightweight material, freedom through the shoulders, comfort, and durability of the wetsuits and the swimskins, and the Team members unanimously wanted to make the switch, and we have been enthusiastically racing in Zone3 wetsuits for three years now. Furthermore, the Zone3 pledge to the environment and eco-friendly manufacturing process meshes well with the Team’s goal to reduce our carbon footprint and support clean energy alternatives.
How to become a member
The DC Triathlon Club is open to all, and anyone is welcome to join at any time during the year. Membership dues are as low as $50 per year with multiyear membership discounts.
The Elite Team is an annual application-based program within the larger DC Triathlon Club. Applications are taken once per year (in the fall) and they are reviewed for both race results as well as a record of involvement in and giving back to the triathlon community.
